This week we visited THE sound installation exhibition OF “THE ECHO OF PROTEST IS DISTANT TO THE PROTEST” by Iranian artist Nazanin Noori. This exhibition is held in a room where only red, orange and yellow alternate in a cycle. We each sat on a white plastic, surrounded by several speakers. First, I heard a very long performance by a female singer. This discordant piece of music made me feel as if I were in a vortex full of curses, causing a faint sense of unease. The addition of the orchestra deepened this feeling even more. Then the music changed. A new singing voice joined, causing the harmonies to overlap. We were still bathed in the lights of red, orange and yellow. This harmony made me feel confused, struggling and in pain. Through Noori’s paper introduction, I felt a deep resonance with her works. I began to think about what I should do if I also wanted to express my views through the method of sound devices? How can I present the viewpoints I want to express more deeply? What should I do to resonate with the audience?
