Today in class we discussed ideas for the audio paper and I was inspired by how sound can reflect political structures.

One example from a classmate involved the sound system of North Korea and how authority shapes what people can hear.

I shared my initial idea about Mongolian throat-singing because I am fascinated by its physicality and overtone resonance.

At the same time, I realized my topic was still too broad. I needed to narrow it down and find a concrete point of entry.

During my tutorial with Ingrid, we confirmed that focusing on Khoomei would work well. What interests me most is how a voice closely tied to land and tradition changes when removed from that place. Technology does not just document the voice. It remakes it. I want to explore that shift.
